The world is changing fast and I want you to know that whatever you do, whatever industry you are in, it will change. Whether employed or business owner your work will change and it will keep changing.
There is a saying, ‘if you keep doing what you are doing you will keep getting what you are getting.’ That is no longer true. If you keep doing what you are doing you will slip backwards and fade away.
In your grandparents day their work stayed pretty much static. My granddad was an electrician, my dad worked in a car factory, my mum ran a petrol station. There was very little change.
Today we constantly need to reinvent ourselves and what we offer.
Look at today’s successful innovators, they embrace change, they are brave, they allow their creative mind to flow. I have found that the hugely successful do not operate from their current position; instead they zoom off into the future and then work backwards.
I remember many years ago Bill Gates talked about a future hand held device from which you would book an airline ticket, talk to anyone anywhere in the world, even watch a movie. At the time it sounded ludicrous.
To succeed in the future you need new strategies and I have them. I have spent years studying what the successful do differently, I have ten strategies, you can find them in my new book Future Vision.
I am often invited into companies to share what I know and to guide the employees and the bosses into the future to find their genius idea. Or perhaps what innovations there will be in their industry and to discover what they need to know and be in the future.
